I am testing a design of the BQ78350 /BQ769200 4S I have some issue with the FET _EN signal if i toggle this it turned off the PCHG DSG and CHG fets. In the manual of the BQ78350 is said it should togle but the are turned off. I can oly turn on the fets by the DSG_test CHG_test.

Im working with BQ studio.

Then a second thing happed I turned om by accident the shut down mode And I do not know how turn this off again. removing power and apply power again doesn't help give a reset doesn't help. give those commands twice.

Should I do somthing with the advanced commSMB in BQstudio if so what to give in for an adress and data ?

    Hi Rens,

    If you have made unknown changes to the configuration one way to get back to a known starting point is to reprogram the firmware.  You lose all adjustments you have made of course and must put back the ones you want.

    You can toggle FET_EN on and off.  With FET_EN set the FETs only come on if the safety conditions allow.  Check for abnormal conditions particularly persistent voltages or a latched fault.  Reset will normally clear any latched fault, check that it is not coming back when the FETs are re-enabled (some over current condition).

    If the part has shut down it must be booted again with the TS1 rising edge to the BQ769x0 supplying the BQ78350-R1A.  If the part shuts down apply a simulated charge current, a few mV to SRP, this will keep the gauge awake to make changes.  Check for the shutdown voltage set abnormally high.  Check also for the AFE cell map set incorrectly so that the the gauge is inspecting a cell and seeing no voltage thus causing it to shut down.

    Hope this helps find the issue.

    I could not figure out the FET _EN function working correctly. 

    Power downmode helpt itstarted it again as told.apllied a high on the BQ769x0 and I had comunication again.

    for the FET-EN I have changed the bq78350 by a new device and start all from scratch.
