TPS546D24: TPS546D24 accuracy question

Part Number: TPS546D24

Hi team,

The table gives ±8mV (-40-125℃, Vout = 1000mV or Vout = 500mV)

does that mean the accuracy is dependent on the output voltage? when output voltage=500mV, the accuracy is >1%?

  • Dane,

    Yes,

It means that the output voltage regulation error, which includes Remote Sense Amplifier Offset, Error Amplifier Offset and reference voltage accuracy is dominated offset errors rather than gain errors.  At an output voltage setting of 0.5V with VOUT_SCALE_LOOP = 0.5, the total regulation error on some devices will exceed 1%.

To obtain higher precision setting of output voltages less than 0.75V, VOUT_SCALE_LOOP can be programmed to 1 via PMBus.  This removes the internal feedback divider and reduces some of the offset errors.

Please note, when comparing this specification to other devices, this is not comparable to a "Reference Voltage" specification, which typically excludes Resistor Divider Error if an external resistor divider is used, error amplifier offset error, and remote sense amplifier error.
