Dear team,

please can you suggest a good starting point ( TI ref design ) for Single port POE 802.3bt Type 4 PSE 90W ?

Which TI POE PSE IC should be used?

Also what voltage would you recommend for the POE PSE input ? 54V?

Do you have any recommendation for AC/DC high eff ref design for the PoE PSE if the PoE PSE input voltage would be 54V ?

    Hi David,

    I recommend using the TPS23881 IC and use the EVM for the hardware design except only designing with a single port (2 Channels of the design). The unused channels you can leave floating except pulling down the sense pin. For the software piece, you will need to load the latest SRAM patches and since this is a single port solution, you can set the PSE to Auto mode through I2C. I recommend evaluating this solution using the TPS23881EVM-008 and its GUI.

    For the AC/DC design. I recommend looking at TI's TI Design library below. You can search already proven reference designs that meets you power specs. I did some filtering already for you in the link below. Thanks!
