UCC28730-Q1: Iout 10Alimit ucc28730 in web bench desinger

Part Number: UCC28730-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28730, LM5021

Dear TI

I'm developing a 200W power source.

Ask if ucc28730 device development is possible.

The design specifications of the 200w power supply are as follows.

-80~120Vin

-14Vout / 15Aout / 200W

then The webbench condition of ucc28730 is limited to 10A output current.

If there are devices that can be developed with the design specifications described above, ask for another devices.

Best regards

  • Hello,

Do to limited gate drive capability the UCC28730 is generally used for lower power applications.

    I did search TI's web site and found a 200 W 120 V AC to 21 V 9.5 A, 200 W reference design using the LM5021.

You should be able to modify this design to support 14 V 15 A for 85 to 265 V AC input.

    Regards,

  • Dear TI Dear Mike O'

    Thank you for the answer.

The data provided will be referred to the development specification.

In the pdf you informed me, I understand that overcurrent, overvoltage protection operation is possible.

In addition, I would like to ask you for a reference for temperature derating. An analog circuit is also required for the derating operation.

For example, if it exceeds 60 degrees, it is a circuit that limits it to 50% of the maximum output power. I need Resources for developing circuits that consist of ti products are provided.

    Thank you for your attention.

  • Hello,

Sorry there is not de rating temperature curves for TIs reference designs.  It is up to the designer to select components to meet their ambient temperature requirements.

The Webench design tool will allow you to select components based on the ambient temperature you enter.  The following link will get you to the Webench tool.
