WEBENCH® Tools/TPS54561: Thermal questions

Hello,

Q1:

Datasheet specifies maximum recommended operating Tj = 150oC.

However, WeBench does not show the simulation results when Tj > 135oC, not 150oC. Why?

Q2:

At datasheet 8.2.1.2.13 Safe operating Area, which maximum Tj is used for TPS54561, 150oC specified at datasheet or 135oC used at WeBench?

Hi Hirano,

The datasheet specifies the Maximum operating temperature as 150 degC. However, WEBENCH adds the derating factor of 90% on Maximum operating temperature( 0.9*150) as a safety margin and WEBENCH does not recommend to operate the device with IC_Tj >135 degC.
