LMR62014: Is there no problem to use this coil MDMK4040T100MM from TAIYO YUDEN?

Hi Team

My customer is going to use coil from TAIYO YUDEN shown below with LMR62014.

He wants to know if there is any concern. Thanks.

Vin=6V

Vout=12V

Io=500mA

    Hello Hung Ching,

    There are 2 possible cases where this inductor could go into saturarion: during startup and during overload on the output.

    So I would recommend to measure the inductor current especially during startup. If an overload on the output could happen, please check as well if the inductor current is getting too high for these cases. I would not recommend this inductor if in one of these 2 cases, the current gets higher than 1.7A to 1.9A.
