LP5036: Temperature rating

Part Number: LP5036

Hi there,

I have a few questions about LP5036's temperature rating.

(1)What does the Op Temp here refer to? Junction temp or ambient temp?

(2)The maximum junction temperature of LP5036 is 125 degree, then why is the thermal shutdown threshold higher than maximum Tj?

Regards,

Charles

  • Hi Charles,

    For question (1):

    -40~125℃ refers to junction temperature.

    For questions (2):

Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device or may not. Product's ability to withstand instantaneous junction temperature will be better. The maximum junction temperature 125℃ just provides the recommended operation condition which doesn't means device will be absolutely damage at 125℃.

    Best Regard
