Hi Team,

The customer would like to do safety test for IEC62368. Do we have any method to do over charging and over discharging?

    Hi Hardy,

    Can you clarify more details on the overcharge and discharge? Are you referring to table G9?

    We have a similar device BQ25155 which has already completed the IEC 62368 certification.

    Hi Gautham,

    Because customer's battery hasn't IEC 62368 certification. So they want to do overcharge and deep discharge intentionally.

    Overcharge: Could we use resistor divider to decrease BAT pin voltage?

    Deep discharge:  Do you have any suggestion for that?

    Hi Hardy,

    Do they have a protector module on the board? Why not just increase VBATREG @VBAT_CTRL Register (Address = 0x12) to a higher value for overcharge? For battery overdischarge- you can set the BUVLO to a lower value @BUVLO Register (Address = 0x16) to  a lower threshold on I2C. 

    This is easier than hardware modifications.
