LM5170-Q1: Increase the transient durations

Hi Team,

Customer is designing a DC-DC converter for the automotive industry and currently evaluating the LM5170-Q1.

According to them, LM5170-Q1 device datasheet, the device can withstand transients of 100V for durations up to 50ns. Is there a way to improve the device to survive voltages transients of 100V peak for durations of 500ms?

Hi Maynard-san,

Thank you posting. You may find the device may support it in a real circuit but we do not guarantee such operation beyond the datasheet max rating.
