UCD9090: Fusion Digital Power Designer + Non-TI Adaptor

Part Number: UCD9090

Hello, I would like to program my UCD9090 using TI's Fusion Digital Power Designer and a Total Phase Aardvark I2C programmer. The Aardvark software (Flash-Center) needs a Hex file as an input in order to produce an I2C datastream. It looks like it is possible to export a Hex file from TI's software, but only when a TI adapter is connected. I do not have a TI adapter.

My question is: Is there a way to get Fusion Digital Power Designer to export a Hex file when in offline mode. Alternatively, is there a way to convert another file format to Hex?

  • Offline mode does not support hex file export.
UCD need a special protocol to download the configuration. Even with hex file, you have to repackage the hex file with particular command set recognized by the device.
Under the offline mode, Fusion GUI can export a pmbus write script file from system or project file. you can use any i2c software to write each single command in the script file to the device.

you will miss most advanced feature of fusion GUI such as on the fly turning, e-scope without a TI adapter.
I would strongly to get one.
    Regards
