AM6442: Sitara Webinar Series: Linux Boot Flow

Part Number: AM6442

If you are interested in learning more about the new AM6442 Sitara Processor family and how it initializes and boots into Linux, this is a great opportunity. This is the next webinar in our monthly webinar series. There are two sessions for your convenience: One at 10AM CST for the Western Hemisphere on 8/17/2021 and another at 9PM CST (10 AM GMT + 8) for the Eastern Hemisphere 8/19/2021 (8/20/2021 in Asia). There are registration links for both sessions below.

In this webinar, the AM64x device initialization and boot flow will be discussed. The boot flow is critical to any embedded system design. The AM64x processor and Linux offer a variety of options (boot sources, configurations, etc.) that will be covered. The attendee will walk away with a solid understanding of the Linux boot process and options for production and development.

If you'd like to learn more about this system, we will dive deeper into the software and how the system is enabled by the AM64x architecture. Here are some things you will learn:

  • SoC requirements for a valid boot
  • Process to move from ROM to SPL to U-Boot to Linux
  • Options for booting from different boot sources (SD Card, eMMC, QSPI, etc.)
  • Configurations that work well for production and development
