Hello all,

I have PSDK j7.

I have created a sample CPP file with required concerto.mak file and added relevant opencv libraries and linked them. OpenCV is working now inside Vision Apps

My application consists of 3 nodes- ImageFileReadNode, ChannelExtractNode and CameraCalibrationNode.

I have generated custom kernels for - ImageFilereadnode and CameraCalibrationNode and using OpenVX default kernel - "ChannelExtract"

I am using PyTIOVX tool to generate the kernel and graph.

But, Please let me know if OpenCV will work with custom kernels and application graph and on hardware also.

Hello all,

I have created an application which involves OpenCV modules like imread()

I have also added opencv as a library to A72 core.

The building and compiling is succesfull. But I am unable to read a PNG image.

I face the following error.

libpng error: bad parameters to zlib
Error! Failed to load image

I DO NOT get this error with BMP or JPG.

Please let me know the solution if any!! Lucas Weaver

Hello Padmasree,

OpenCV is not supported by TI on J7. This is an open source component and not delivered within the PSDK. Therefore, I am not aware of why any issues may be occurring when using OpenCV.

Hello Lucas,

Can you please confirm me if adding OpenCV as a library to the PSDK in an application will work on the J7 board?

Because, as of now, I am successful using OpenCV in PC level. So, I want to know if it will work on hardware.

Also, please suggest me some visualizing node to view an image.

Hello Padmasree,

We have not validated OpenCV on the target so I am unaware of if this is functional or not but you are welcome to try. There may be further dependencies required, although this is not supported by TI.

In terms of viewing an image, we typically just do this outside of OpenVX nodes and inside the application itself. We have several helper functions for BMP viewing, etc.

I will try the same on J7 platform and report issues if any!

I have the following queries.

1) Please share some sample helper functions for bmp viewing and their links

2) Do those helper functions work only on BMP? or any other image format also?

There are several API's below. The only available helper functions from TI work on BMP.
