Devices for GigE Vision

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

Hi experts,

My customer wants to change the FPGA used for GigE Vision to a processor.

Does TI have a processor available for GigE Vision?

I have confirmed the link below. I would like to know which devices are currently released that can support this.

  • Hello Sasaki

We currently still do not have any devices where the SDK supports GigE vision cameras. So the answer is somewhat similar to my older post.

We are reinvestigating if there is more demand for this.

Will something like TDA4VM device family be a good fit from a feature/performance/price perspective for your customer? Are you able to share more about the end application?

  • Hi Sasaki-san,

Our customers typically port the GigE standard on our SDK, and work with under hood ethernet drivers  to interface with GigE vision cameras. TDA4VM device family is good fit to interface with GigE cameras.

    Please share

    • Their journey on enabling the GigE vision camera with FPGA
    • The bit-rate at which the GigE vision camera need to interface with the processor.

    Regards,

    Manisha

  • Hi Manisha-san,

    Thank you for the information.

    • Their journey on enabling the GigE vision camera with FPGA
    • The bit-rate at which the GigE vision camera need to interface with the processor.

The bit rate when using FPGA is 5Mpcs and 20fps. Customers haven't set the requirements and they want to know how much bitrate they get when using a processor.   I would like to know if there is benchmark information on the bit rate of TI Prosessa.

    Best regards,
    Sasaki
