TI support teams.

We use custom board, With a serializer at DP interface for which can connected with two scereens. And we connected with two cameras ( A-camera image output to A-screen, B-camera image output to B-screen).

1、I would like to know whether the TDA4 SoC hardware support superframe for our custom board outputs the particular format or not?

2、Whether both SDKs(Linux & RTOS) support superframes ?

3、If one of SDK(s) could support, How to modify to adapt to realize superframe?

Hi Murphy,

Can you please help us understand what is super frame output from DP that you are looking for? Is it like two frames merged in sidebyside or in top-bottom fashion?

Hi Murphy,

That's possible. You could use two video pipelines to get the two camera data and then merge the video pipelines sidebyside in the overlay manager.. Finally overlay manager and video port can be configured to output (widthx2) x height frame size to the display panel.

Because of the SER don not soupport spilt the merged picture into two for screen A & B.

Is there any solution(s) can realize the blockdiagram As below ?

SoC side output data format (I: Alternate Line II: Alternate Pixel).

1、Whether the SoC side could output one of the two data formats ?

2、If supported, File(s) required to modify?

Hi Murphy,

I guess you mean line interleaved (I) and pixel interleaved (II) format..

DSS internally cannot interleave two frames in any of these formats. This needs to be output of DSS, ie in the application. DSS then can send out this super frame, essentially double the actual size, and serializer can split it into two frames..

Yes, it needs to be generated in vision apps. Which application are you using for two camera?

We using Multiple-cam application.

From ablove link explanation, We modify the resoluation to 3480x1080. And run below steps.
cd /opt/vision_apps
source ./vision_apps_init.sh
./run_app_multi_cam.sh
Shows that the same pictrue on both screen. And the rest camera-caputured picture were hidden.

-----------------------------       ---------->   Only the "1" screen-on, The rest were hidden. Create an illusion for user.

We send this data format to serializer.
So next step the serializer should do the rest of the split-screen work. Is that right ?

I could not understand, where did you change the resolution? what is the format serializer expects for dual screen? What would be resolution in this case?

Yes, Serializer expecting line interleaved format, We used basic_demos/app_multi_cam/ .

How to generate this farmat data in vision apps (files required to modify)?
