DRA746: Linux Upstream Patch Support

Part Number: DRA746

Hi,

I am attempting to upgrade the linux kernel to 5.10. I can see some of the patches from the supported linux build (debian9) have been applied but some changes appear to be missing. Can I get more information on which parts have been pushed to upstream and if the missing parts are no longer needed? Have the patches that have made it to the upstream been tested and working with the DRA7xx platform?

Kind regards,

Lee

  • Hi Lee,

There have been a lot of software design changes between 4.19 to 5.10 Like the HWMOD is more or less migrated to DT.
It will be really difficult to give a comprehensive report on the patches that have made it to 5.10 and otherwise.

5.10 kernel should definitely have DRA746 booting from 5.10 kernel. Rest all need to be tried and tested. Since we do not have
an SDK with 5.10 kernel, I can only comment with the limited changes.

    Best Regards,
    Keerthy
