AM5728: AM5746/8 Compatible with am5728 software and hardware design?

Hi Ti Expert,

Thanks in advance.

We are using am5728 chip with own custom board.
Q1.
We want to use am5746/8 instead of am5728 so any hardware change required for am5746/8 on custom board of am5728?

Q2.

Sd-card prepared for am5728 same working for am5729?

(i.e:-device tree setting ,root file system and kernel version in sd-card data).it is fully compatibility with software ?

We are using Ubuntu and device tree is am57xx-beagle-x15.dts The source code link is given below.

1. Please refer to this previous E2E thread, and the AM574x_AM572x_AM571x_Compatibility_Guide AppNote (also referenced in the below thread). The App Note showcases the differences in detail w.r.t package considerations, ball differences etc.

2. The TI SDKs use the same filesystem between all the AM57xx SoCs, but the kernel and U-Boot dts files vary based on the board being used.

The am57xx-beagle-x15.dts file leverages AM572x SoCs. The AM57xx dtsi files are structured to distinguish the various SoC variations. Please refer to am5728.dtsi and am5748.dtsi files. You can also refer to two different TI reference IDK boards that use each of these SoCs: am572x-idk.dts and am574x-idk.dts. Leverage these to include the appropriate dtsi files for your board.

I would also recommend you to look at the individual SoC Data Manuals.
