    SB45958: Both indicator lights are off. Unit does not look powered. This probe could be dead

    SB46011 and SB45959: USB light is RED while MODE light is BLINKING GREEN. This means the probe is powered and booting up. It should take ~20 seconds to finish booting up and then the MODE light should turn SOLID GREEN. If it never turns SOLID GREEN, then there is some issue with the boot up.

    You may want to suggest putting the device into safe mode and follow the steps suggested by the Blackhawk engineer in the below post:

    SB46012: This probe looks good. The issue is elsewhere. What is the exact error you get when the connection fails? What is the results of the JTAG connectivity test?

  • It looks like SB45958 is bad and should be returned. Please contact the vendor you purchased it from.

    SB46011 is confirmed good

    SB45959 - I believe this is confirmed good also? Is this correct?

    SB46012 - it looks like the probe may be good but the issue is elsewhere. Please have the customer run a JTAG connectivity test (see my last post on how) and post the results here.

    In the word doc, the comment was "Operation as above, as before USB MODE red light / green light flashing". This means that the probe is booting up. This was also the case for SB46011, which works. Does SB45959 never fully boot up? Is that the issue?

    SB46011 seems to boot up and enumerate successfully (when both LEDs turn GREEN). The other seems to never boot up successfully. After several (unsuccessful) boot up attempts, it should try to boot up in safe mode (blinking RED MODE LED). If this never happens, it could be a bad probe. Note that you may need to have several boot failure in a row before the probe tries to boot into safe mode. I assume the customer tried many times. Assuming that is the case, they may want to contact Blackhawk support for further assistance (this issue is beyond my scope of expertise).

    This seems to be working. I don't see any issue here. The probe boots up successfully and both lights turn solid green. This is good.

    SB46012-Is it good or bad? Is it possible to return or exchange goods?

    I'm not sure. That probe seems to boot up ok but CCS is having issue communicating with the probe. I suggest the customer try rebooting the PC and plug in the probe in a different USB port directly to the PC (no hub) and try "Test Connection" again.

    Please have the customer try testing using the BH560v2 configuration tool. The probe may be in safe mode and you can also use the tool to clear safe mode.

    The document for the BH560v2 config tool is the Bh560v2Config-UG-05.pdf document in the zip I attached earlier.

    My customer feedback:  the engineer returned to work yesterday. When he was preparing to test the equipment, he found that the wiring was loose. If you continue to test according to the figure, the loose wire will definitely fail the test. The engineer would like to ask whether the box can be removed. If the box is removed and the row of wires is inserted, whether the warranty will be returned after the test.
    The engineer said that if the box is dismantled, it may be connected, but the previous problem may not be solved. He was afraid that if the box is dismantled privately, there will be no warranty.

    Yes, that is my opinion.

    Note that these probes are not manufactured or owned by TI. I can only provide opinions on if I think the probe is faulty or not. I don't have any knowledge on things like warrenty, returns, hardware repairs, etc. It is best to contact the vendor or distributor for more details.
