AM5718: 4k30 input via 4 lane CSI

I could find below device supporting HDMI to CSI for 4K resolution.

But from AM5718 point of view, it can support 4K resolution capture on both CSI as well as VIP input port.

I see that board has one of the Toshiba TC358840XBG or a similar HDMI to CSI bridge. This chip requires 8 lanes of CSI in order to achieve the 4k30 input. The AM5718 only has 6 total lanes of CSI input.

How have other customers used AM5718 to achieve 4k30 input? Are they required to use an FPGA for hdmi to parallel input? It looks like ADI has some HDMI to parallel HDMI receivers but the datahseets are unclear on if they can be configured to output data in a way that AM5718 will accept it. (16 bit parallel, 2bytes/pixel). I haven't seen very many other options for HDMI to parallel so any input would be appreciated.

Taking a look at the ADV7619, it looks like the output format at 4k30 is 2x 24bit busses in 4:4:4 format. Is this something AM5718 can support?

From their datasheet:

The output section of the ADV7619 is highly flexible. The pixel
output bus can support up to 36-bit 4:4:4 YCrCb or 36-bit 4:4:4
RGB. For resolutions higher than 1080p, the pixel output bus
supports two 24-bit 4:4:4 RGB/YCrCb.

I am not aware of anyone using 4k30 resolution on AM57 device, but from the device point of view, it can support this resolution, as confirmed in the other thread.

AM75 can support at max 8bit per component, so for RGB/YUV, it can support at 24bit per pixel.

Do we support splitting one video feed across two VIPs? As stated in the ADI datasheet we'd need 2x 24 bit wide interfaces to make this work.

Yes, you could use two VIPs to capture 2 x 24bit wide interface, if the pins are available, i mean, if they are not used for other functionalities. 

Also since it will use two VIP, they will run independently.
