AM625: SK-AM62 EVM does not boot

Part Number: AM625
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SK-AM62

Hi,

I have a SK-AM62 EVM board, I have followed the all required steps written on the Quick Start Gude but the board does not boot.

I've used WIC image downloaded from this link: "https://dr-download.ti.com/software-development/software-development-kit-sdk/MD-PvdSyIiioq/08.03.00.19/tisdk-default-image-am62xx-evm.wic.xz" and Balena Etcher to prepare a SD card.

Power indication LED's are on, voltage rails are valid, serial ports showing and I selected first port of them but serial port does not promt anything except "-" sign.

What can be the possible cause? How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,
I'm attaching the boot log I captured from SD boot using SDK 8.3 on AM62x-SK E1 board for your reference.
Have we checked the boot mode switch setting (SW2 & SW1) on your board?
Note that the boot mode orientation (SW2 & SW1) has changed between E1 and E2.

  • Hi,

Thanks for your help Hong. I've checked the bootmode switches, it seems correct, could you please also check it.

  • Hi again,

It is because of the false boot options as you said, issue is solved, thanks.
