AM625: Wakeup from Suspend to RAM

Part Number: AM625

Hi,

I have a question from my customer.
According to the previous thread (linked above), WOL is just GPIO interrupt from PHY.
This means ethernet hardware itself does not support WOL feature.

Does AM625x support wakeup from Suspend to RAM using WakeOnUSB Host or WakeOnUSB gadget ?
If yes, when SDK supports these features?

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • Hi Tashiro-san,

Does AM625x support wakeup from Suspend to RAM using WakeOnUSB Host or WakeOnUSB gadget ?

By "WakeOnUSB", do you mean wake up AM625 from USB bus data activity or USB device connect/disconnect?

If wake up by USB bus data activity, and if AM625 USB is in host mode, the feature is called USB Remote Wakeup. This feature will be supported in future SDK. I don't have the schedule yet. But if AM625 USB is in gadget mode, I don't think the feature will be supported. There is an technical difficulty (related to USB protocol timing requirement by the USB Specs) to implement this feature in any ARM processor running Linux when its USB is in gadget mode.

waking up AM625 by USB device connect/disconnect will be supported in the next SDK v8.4.

  • Hi Bin,

    Thanks for your reply.
When SDK v8.4 will be released?

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hi Tashiro-san,

SDK v8.4 is scheduled to be released by end of September.
