Dear TI,
our query is as below
- As written in TMS320C6746 documentation that external Host processor can access all interna and external memories over HPI bus,
In our case, we have connected external DDR2 memory to TMS320C6746, and want to read some data from this external DDR2 ram using HPI host,
will the code running in the DSP will stop for a while, so that HPI DMA can access this DDR memory location and provide data to external Host processor,
how efficient this could be,
kindly share your view on this
Hello I
Thank you for the query.
Accessing DDR RAM connected to TMS320C6746 using external Host Processor over HPI bus
The title says you are looking to access the DDR connected to one DSP from another host over HPI.
The body description seems different.
Can you please provide a diagram showing the planned implementation.
As written in TMS320C6746 documentation that external Host processor can access all interna and external memories over HPI bus,
I am not sure if this means you can access DDR since the DDR follows an interface standard Ex JEDEC, please refer the below thread for understanding the ddr2 standard.

Hello J
Please Refer below input
HPI to the DDR2 memory interface?
No, HPI interfaces to an async memory interface like EMIFA
