Using CCSv4 and the C5515 ezDSP board/USB stick I run the .gel script that sets the PLL to use 120 MHz.
The GEL script configures th CGCR2 register for 0x0806 per the C551 user's guide.
When I read the CGCR3 register, it reads ox080E. If I try to manually change the value to 0x0806, I always get 0x080E.
I've reset the board, cycled power and get the same results.
Why is this?
This is a normal behavior.
Bit field 3 of CGCR3 (register 1C22h) is the “Lock Status Monitor”. It is set after 64 PLL clock cycles have passed since the last PLL power-up or reset. This confirms that the PLL is now locked.
