Hi Team,
I have a question about image processing library IMGLIB and VLIB.
I have seen that the IMGLIB was updated last in 2014 and the VLIB in 2018. So my question is whether this library is still an active product and supplied with updates in the future or not. If not, is there a newer library available.
Customer wants to use this library perhaps for a new project and therefore it is important that it is up to date. The new project is for machine vision with tasks like feature detection to recognize certain features on the images (bright circles, lines). Could you also recommend the device most suitable for this application?
Thanks,
Daria
Hello Daria,
We've stopped supporting SW development for C674x DSP, as announced here. There'll be no updates to IMGLIB/VLIB in the future, and there will be no new libraries for C674x DSP.
As for device recommendation, are you aware of the AM62A family for low to mid-end vision applications? Please take a look at https://www.ti.com/product/AM62A3 or www.ti.com/.../AM62A7.

Hi Jianzhong,
Thank you, how would an image processing software be developed for the AM62A, with Linux and OpenCV? Or do we have other tools/libraries for this?
Sincerely,
Daria
Hi Daria,
Yes, you would use Linux and OpenCV. For your machine vision applications, do you need to use deep learning? We have a deep learning accelerator on the AM62A family. If your applications need to use camera, there is ISP accelerator as well.

Jianzhong
