Using MIC_IN as input source on PSP audio sample with OMAP-L137 EVM

Hi all,

I would modify the pspdrivers_01_20_00 audio sample so that codec Aic31 uses MIC_IN as input source.

Starting from what I read, I suppose I have to change codec input source setting by Aic31_control(.) function (Aic31 Driver Architecture Document) specifying IOCTL command Aic31_AC_IOCTL_SELECT_INPUT_SOURCE.

I spent much time on DSP/BIOS manuals and IOM / IDriver documentation, but I think it's not enough yet :-) Could you give me any suggestion?

Hi Diego,

Please open the project:

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\pspdrivers_01_20_00\packages\ti\pspiom\platforms\evm6747\audio\build\audio.pjt

Go to the Audio.c file.

Add this to line 305:

int source_audio = ICodec_InputDest_MICIN;

Add this to line 395:

retVal = ((IOM_Fxns *)instHandle->acDevHandle[i]->fxns)->mdControlChan((Ptr)chanHandle->aiAudioCodecHandle[i],Aic31_AC_IOCTL_SELECT_INPUT_SOURCE,&source_audio);

Rebuild the project.

Then open the project C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\pspdrivers_01_20_00\packages\ti\pspiom\examples\evm6747\audio\build\audioSample.pjt

And rebuild it (Project-> Rebuild All)

I attached the modified Audio.c file for your reference.

Hi,

I used the audio.c attached file on Mariana's mail.

Probably it could be a silly question... are you using a mic preamp?

If not, I suppose you have to adjust MIC bias and PGA gain settings values by the Aic31 codec registers.

I am sure use the mic preamp [:)].

when i test the mic i hear nothing, but using line in it work well.

The mic preamp work well if i use the example : http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/evmc6747 ( dsp/tests/aic3106).

in addition:

The evmc6747_dsp.gel(spectrumdigital) file must be load when test audioSample.pjt (PSP). otherwise ccs show load code addr error:0xc0003000.

Once i modify the audio.c file accorder Mariana point, the EVM board was reset after it running one time.

Dear all,

I have applied the settings that Mariana recommended, but there mic input still is not working? I am not using a microphone preamp. Isn't it possible to use the microphone input directly without using an amplifier?

Is there an internal amplifier in the microphone audio path of the EVM? Can we use the microphone input by just increasing the gain with some registers? Thanks in advance.
