Hi TI Ethernet Experts,
By following the link below, the native ethernet is configured in switch mode.
The sequence to configure switch mode is shown below.
Then two PC are connected to the Quad-Port Ethernet Expansion board, but they cannot ping to each other.
However, with the same hardware connection, the 2 PC can ping to each other in virtual client mode.
Questions:
1: May I know if there is any restriction for 2 PC ping in switch mode?
2: When CPSW9g is in Native Ethernet Switch Mode, can the 8 ports be configured to different vlan?
Thanks a lot!
Kevin
Hi Tanmay,
I think for question 2 the answer should be yes.
Could you help on ping problem of native ethernet switch mode in advance?
Kind Regards,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I think for question 2 the answer should be yes.
That is correct.
May I know if there is any restriction for 2 PC ping in switch mode?
No, there aren't any restrictions on the switch mode ping. It has been tested on the EVM.
When you are talking about the virtual client mode, are you talking about ethfw.
Can you have a look at this guide to shift to native linux driver from ethfw and can you confirm that you are following the same steps.

Tanmay
