HI TI team

We are using "MT25QL128ABB1ESE-0AUT" FLASH - NOR Memory IC 128Mbit SPI 133 MHz 5 ns 8-SO. Can we use this Flash IC for booting SMOMAPL138B-HIREL. How do we connect this Flash SPI lines of SMOMAPL138B-HIREL.

Below Schematic is Parallel NOR flash connection to SMOMAPL138B-HIREL please guide me if connections are wrong

Hello Vighnesh,

I have not received any inputs and hence would want you to recommend you to follow the recommendations in the data sheet for implementing the 16-bit Nor flash interface.

OMAP-L13x / C674x / AM1x schematic review guidelines

Here are a few additional suggestions.

J51, Increase the divider ratio, pullup could be 10K.

The SPI clock input to the memory device may need a parallel termination.

U457, terminate the unused inputs and add a series resistor at the output.

1 Gbit is memory size we are using in design and Part number of Flash MT28EW01GABA1LJS-0SIT. Micron make.

Document says only about 512Mbit connection. Can we use 1Gbit flash

The picture you attached is 64M X 16.

I guess this is 1 Gbit. Please elaborate your query.

I have referred the document provided by you. As per figure 8 in document says 64 x 16 configuration but flash indicated as 512Mbit (64 x8).

Will OMAPL138 support 1Gbit NOR flash? Can I use below connection guidelines for interface?

I have used 3 AND gates for as given in document for Address pin.
