DRA829V: BIST engine features and its usage

Part Number: DRA829V
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, TDA4VM

Hi TI Team,

I've noticed that DRA829/TDA4VM technical reference manual briefly tells that DDR controller has a BIST engine, which supports memory filling and some memory tests.

I've also checked description of the corresponding registers but could not figure out how to initiate MOVI3N and MOVI tests and obtain results. I've also found here at the forum a thread about memory initialization with the BIST engine. But do you have any document (application note) or at least code examples for the complete BIST engine functionality?

Best regards,
Dmitry

  • Hi Dmitry,

What is your desired usage of BIST? If you are just wanting to test the memory, you might consider using a CPU based memory test.

There is no document / application note that describes the BIST in more detail.

    Regards,
    Kevin
