TMS320C6678: Inquiry regarding the EDMA3 technology

Part Number: TMS320C6678

Hi Experts,

A customer has a query regarding the EDMA3 technology for the C6678 processor. We would appreciate it if you can provide feedback regarding the code written and some questions below.

I have attached the image of the code and output as well as the document file for easier reference. Thank you.

Question 1: There are some issues with the simulation data, and the transposed
results are not quite correct. Is it a parameter issue?
Question 2: I am running this code on the C6678 development version and cannot output results. EDMA3 polling has fallen into a dead loop. What is the reason?

  • Hi,

Before we get into your code, I would recommend you to have a look at the following code which does the ping-pong test on C6678 processor device.

Using the CSL sample code, I have just created a test-app EDMA-code to do the PING-PONG test on C6678.

I have tested it on C6678 board and the results are geiven as a CCS-snapshot.

    Output on channel tests.

I am uploading the EDMA test project for you.

    4505.test.zip

You can download and import this EDMA project.

I will also upload a vidoe on  how to do create a CCS project for EDMA test code.

Using that, you can build for your C6678 board and do the PING-PONG test.

    This will give clarity on

    1. EDMA parameter initialization and configuration

    2. EDMA Usage flow

    3. Channel testing etc...
