AM625: External RAM Supported by AM62x Family

Hey Sitara Processor team,

I have a customer evaluating the AM62x family for a new project and they have some questions regarding support for external RAM on this processor family. Can you please help to provide guidance on the comments and questions below?

From Customer:

We have been looking at AS4C256M16D3C-12BCN DDR3 DRAM as a potential option for external memory for the AM62x platform and have the following questions:

The memory linked above is 256Mx16 and the AM62x is 64-bit ARM...does this mean we need 4pcs of this memory to match the 64-bit processor?
Are there any other supported memory limitations such as memory clock frequency? Will the DDR3 800MHz memory linked above work?
Does TI have any other suggested parts for external memory that is suitable for the AM62x family?

Matt,

AM62x only supports DDR4 and LPDDR4 devices. Please refer to the datasheet for max frequency/size specifications.

You can refer to our SK-AM62 for a recommended DDR4 implementation using MT40A1G16KD-062E IT:E. This page should have all design documents which may simplify a customer design: https://www.ti.com/tool/SK-AM62
