AM6442: 6 Ethernet Ports, FSI connection to FPGA

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hi,

For a new project in the future I'm evaluating a new processor from the Sitara family. The AM6442 has more or less all the peripherals I need.
But because of the package I'm not able to have all 6 Ethernet ports (RGMII interface) on the pins. I did test it with SysConfig. ICSSG1_RGMII2 is conflicting with CPSW port.

Question 1: Any plans in the future to pack AM6442 into a bigger package?

For other functionality we need a FPGA that needs to communicate with the Sitara Processor quite fast. 100Mbit/s is desired. If possible with just a few connections (low data volume, low cycle time).
So FSI connection would be a possibility. In TI E2E I saw some threads about the topic of having FSI in a FPGA about five years ago. So far TI had no plans to provide an IP for FPGA implementation.

Question 2: Any change in this topic? New plans? Being able to communicate with an FPGA over FSI would be a big advantage

AM65x would also be possible solution.

Question 3: How are the AM64x positioned relative to the AM65x in the TI portfolio? Are those thought to be in two different use cases?

Thanks and best regards,
Patrick
