TMS320C6655: SPI NOR BOOT

Hi,

We are developing a Custom board with TMS320C6655 DSP Proccessor.In our Custom board, there is no EEprom Present.

We are working on SPI-NOR BOOT ,and following the below mentioned forum steps

We are able to probe the SPI pins in No boot mode from DSP to Flash (GPIO Toggle code) .In CCS, We are getting NOR programmed Successfully message in the console. Then after changing to NOR boot switch mode and rebooting ,We are not able to retrieve the image from the flash.

Could be please check and let know the procedure for booting with NOR flash without eeprom (ibl) in the custom board.

Without EEPROM, there is no such procedure exist as of now.

One has to develop it with reference to the spiboot.c given in processor SDK 6.3 as well as with the GPIO code snippet given in the FAQ as a proof of concept.

The offering of Processor SDK is just that much.

Hi,

I tried flash boot using that link without ibl. I suppose Flash memory is working by probing the memory data in and out pins .But while doing power reset, I am not able to see the desired output but the flash data in pin we can probe and check.What could be the reason .

Thilak,

If you have C6655 EVM, follow the same procedure in EVM and compare it with your custom board.
