SK-AM62: SK-AM62 will not boot Linux from SD card

1. Are you using SDK image as is ? https://www.ti.com/tool/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM62X

2. Have you switched the tiboot3.bin in boot partition ?

Most likely you have a GP board , you will need to switch the tiboot3.bin "tiboot3-<family>-gp-evm.bin to tiboot3.bin" 

3. Share the bootlog if you see anything on uart console/.

1) I am using the Yocto TI-SDK build environment.

2) I do have tiboot3.bin in the boot partition of the SD Card.

3) There is nothing on the uart console at all.

How can I tell what version of SK-AM62 i have so I can check the switches on the board?

By default the tiboot3.bin in the SDK package is for HS-FS device, which comes with the prebuilt images.

Can you replace the tiboot3-am62-gp-evm.bin as tiboot3.bin and try booting from SD card and let us know if it works?

I tried this, it did not do anything.  I still do not have booting from SD card replacing "tiboot3.bin" with "tiboot3-am62-gp-evm.bin".  On UART, I just see a single character, looks like maybe a "null" and that's it.  So the UART Is connected correctly, but no boot happening.

UART isn't even working with this board and I don't have a Windows machine here.  Is there a Linux solution available to figure out which version of the board I have?  WebEx would work too.

It was pleasure talking to you over webEX and debugging your issue. Since, we got the board booted up with pre-built image, its not a hardware problem.

Let me know how your testing goes with replacing the tiboot3.bin(Yocto compiled) with pre-built tiboot3.bin.

It was great to speak with you as well, Suren!  Thanks so much for helping me get this board to boot the pre-packaged WIC file.  Now for the fun part of figuring out what went wrong!  I will post the solution here, just in case other Yocto builders run into it, before I close out this conversation.
