TDA4VM: Ethernet cannot work

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi Ti teams:

rtos : 8.0

I use this configure cpsw0

port1 ->SGMI->88q2221

port2->SGMI->88q2221

use ifconfig

eth1 cannot receive any packets.

I have checked the lane configure ,I think it is right.

Is there method to solve this problem or to find codes about this problem?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Can you please share MCU2_0 (EthFw log) for understanding of configuration and Link status of Ports?

Also, Please collect ALE table (refer to FAQ) and EthFw statistics (refer to FAQ) and share with us before sending any packets, and after sending few (some 10 count) packets.

    Best Regards,
    Sudheer

  • Hi,

    [MCU2_0] Port 0 Statistics
    [MCU2_0] 288.812628 s: -----------------------------------------

From above log it seems like no packet is reaching Host Port as well, so we don't have any statistics for Port-0.

Can you please share you test environment details, and how TDA4VM and PC is connected and MAC Address of each and IP address.

Also, can you please share ifconfig info in Linux after IP configuration for eth1 and before IP configuration of eth1 and ARP table at Linux side and PC after ping.

PC can receive icmp package when I ping the PC,

Do you mean, when we ping from Linux to PC, PC is receiving the ICMP messages?

Also, capture tcpdump on eth1 interface in Linux and PC side wireshark log to capture what are frames received by TDA4VM.

Also, I could not found any Link Up messages from MCU2_0. Can you please share ethfw changes made by you.

    Best Regards,
    Sudheer

Ping cannot work correctly from PC to TDA4.

I just have changed the SGMII lane configure , CPSW0 port configure and PHY configure.

I Can see two nodes mapping with same IP address, Can you please check Ping is sending to which Destination MAC address from PC.
Can you please flush ARP entries and repeat fresh test.

Ping cannot work correctly from TDA4 to PC. But PC can receive ICMP package.

You mean if you ping from TDA4 to PC, ICMP messages are received to PC but response is not sent by PC.
Probably about APR entry might be problem.

I just have changed the SGMII lane configure , CPSW0 port configure and PHY configure.

Do you mean SerDes Lane configuration, Port-1 is MAC only from Ethfw, but I could not find any details from logs.
Can you please share code changes in EthFw.

    Best Regards,

Yes,but I am not sure if response is not sent by PC or TDA4 cannot receive .

Can you collect Wireshark log at PC and check ICMP requests and Response messages while ping from TDA4 to PC.
If you observe response message, you can check destination MAC address in response sent from PC it should be TDA4s address then only TDA4 will receive the message.

In the saved wireshark file, can you check Ping response is sent from PC or Not?
I think no response might be sent from PC as two interfaces registered with same IP address 192.168.1.160 as shown below.

    192.168.1.160 (incomplete) enx00e04c6805c0

What is the significance of converter here having IP address as 192.168.1.150 (incomplete) with MAC address enx00e04c6805c0.

Why converter is showing the IP address of same as A72, we are not sure what your using in between If PC sends response that should be seen in CPSW statistics as well then response is received by CPSW.
    Please check this point.
