TDA4VM: What does TDA and suffix in TI TDA4 Family stand for?

Part Number: TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA2SX, , TDA4VL, TDA2E, TDA4VH, DRA829

I know DSP is abbr for digital signal processor or digital signal processing. I wonder what does TDA4, VM, VL in TI TDA4VM, TDA4VL, TDA4VH, TDA2E, TDA2SX, etc. stand for. Similaly, the document is full of abbreviations that have not been introduced such as DRA, SPRUI, SPRSP.

I try to google TDA4 naming convention and search in this forum but get no help. I also go through the official Technical documentations. In J721E DRA829/TDA4VM Processors Silicon Revision 1.1/1.0 Chapter 2 Nomenclature, Package Symbolization, and Revision Identification, it says

For additional information how to read the complete device name for any DRA829 and TDA4VM devices, see the specific-device Datasheet (SPRSP35 and SPRSP36).

Reference documents for the supported devices are:

  • J721E DRA829/TDA4VM Processors Technical Reference Manual (SPRUIJ7)

  • JacintoTm DRA829 Automotive Processors Datasheet (SPRSP35)

  • TDA4VM JacintoTm Automotive Processors for ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles Datasheet (SPRSP36)

Then I carefully read TDA4VM JacintoTm Automotive Processors for ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles Datasheet, but didn't find any paragraph introduce how TDA4VM is named. Chapter 10 Device and Documentation Support is just a repetition of above what I quote. Table 10-1. Nomenclature Description didn't further explain how Base production part number like TDA4VM is named.
