Hi Team, 

     We  used entry j722S2 sdk9.2 to boot mcu2_0 successed , but when we opened mcu1_0 definition and generated mcu1_0.out , boot failed. log as follows

    This is simple ipc echo test based DM binary.

    vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out

    This is vision apps based firmware binary.

    Any reason why you want to build own DM binary?

    have you tried with the default Binary board-support/prebuilt-images/ti-dm/j722s/ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f. I believe that is working. Can you confirm?
    The custom changes might be causing issues with IPC. I will loop in our IPC expert. Please share the changes that you have done for custom MCU1_0 app.

    after remove the link file : /lib/firmware/j722s-mcu-r5f0_0-fw ,  the system can login by root.

    The above is a vision_apps change. If the flag is set to yes, then the mcu1_0 should come from vision_apps.

    So you way of making the SD Card should be similar to how the SD Card is made using vision_apps binaries.

    and then make uboot , make sdk, the  ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f will be updated

    Also, when the flag is "yes", "make sdk" will automatically call "make u-boot" internally.

    Please refer the u-boot build flow when the flag is set to "yes"

    Here the vision_apps binary "vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out" is copied and renamed as "ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f" in the highlighted command.

    Then when you do "make linux_fs_install_sd" to copy the vision_apps firmware to the SD Card, it would softlink the "vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out" to the mcu1_0 firmware as shown below

    Hence, please follow the vision_apps way of creating the SD Card, if you are using vision_apps firmware (i.e. BUILD_CPU_MCU1_0?=yes)

    Are you running vision_apps based firmware on MCU1_0 (or) are you running ipc_echo_testb on MCU1_0 (or) are you running your own binary on MCU1_0 (which is not a vision_apps binary) ?

        We want to add some function in vision_apps/platform/j722s/rtos/mcu1_0 , first we use BUILD_CPU_MCU1_0?=yes  and want to check if vx_app_arm_remote_log.out can print MCU1_0 log, but failed on system boot process.

    Please follow the below steps in these case.

    Step 1: Keep BUILD_CPU_MCU1_0?=no and clean build the sdk (i.e. make vision_apps_scrub and then make sdk )

    Step 2: Follow the below steps to create the SD Card, that could run vision_apps usecase

    Vision Apps User Guide: Run Instructions

    Step 3: Boot the EVM using this SD Card and ensure that the ./vision_apps_init.sh has logs from the remote cores. (MCU2_0, C7x_1 and C7x_2)

    Step 4: Once this is done, change BUILD_CPU_MCU1_0?=yes and also enable "ENABLE_IPC_MCU1_0" in the file vision_apps/platform/j722s/rtos/common/app_cfg.h and then execute "make sdk". This should automatically build the u-boot as well.

    Step 5: Ensure that there is vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out created in the out folder of vision_apps.

    Step 6: Run the command "make linux_fs_install_sd" to copy all the required libs and out files to the SD Card.

    Step 7: Repeat Step 3 and check if you are getting MCU1_0 logs as well now.

    This should resolve your issue.

    I have deleted the mcu1-0 soft link , so  which file printed the mcu1-0 log    ?

    May I know why are you deleting the softlink here? The logs are from the firmware "vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out" 

    And I see that you are getting full logs from MCU1_0 along with IPC echo test passing at the end. 

    This means that the MCU1_0 is up with vision_apps firmware.

       The printed log is in IPC echo test , which generated with ./board-support/prebuilt-images/ti-dm/j722s/ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f , not from vx_app_rtos_linux_mcu1_0.out . 

    MCU1-0 is running ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f.  But if mcu1-0 softlink not deleted in vision_apps/lib/firmware ,  the boot process will be blocked ,
