AM62A7-Q1: The CSI-TX supports three virtual channels with different resolutions

I used an aggregator to merge the two cameras into one MIPI CSI input。

Virtual channel 1 and virtual channel 2 are the image signals input by the OX05B camera, with a resolution of 2592*1944 and a frame rate of 30 FPS.

Virtual channel 3 is the video stream input of the OX03C camera, with a resolution of 1300*670 and a frame rate of 50FPS.

I used MAX96716 aggregator to merge them into the AM62A.

Currently, I am using SDK version 8.6.

Can TI's SDK receive this MIPI CSI data signal?

Hello Yuwei,

Please refer to this FAQ: What's the maximum camera capability on AM62A? As long as the total data rate from both sensors is below the CSI and ISP bandwidth, the SDK can receive data from both sensors.

The core of the problem is that in the MIPI data received by the CSI port of the AM62A, can the different virtual channels be configured with different resolutions and frame rates?

If so, does TI have examples to refer to?

Yes, this is supported. Each virtual channel is served independently by the CSI Rx receiver and the ISP.

We've tested OV2312 (2 virtual channels) + IMX390 on AM62A. Please refer to this app note: Developing Multiple-Camera Applications on AM6x.

In the material you provided, I see that the combination of 2 x IMX390+1 x OV2312 has passed the test.

What is the resolution and frame rates used by these cameras?

Can you provide me with the driver code for this video link?

IMX390: 1936x1100 @ 30fps

OV2312: 1600x1300 @ 60fps

I am using SDK version 8.6, but on 8.6 I noticed that TI's CSI driver is not friendly to multi-stream input, does TI have a modified CSI driver provided on SDK8.6 version?

Hi Yuwei,

SDK 8.6 supports multi-camera input. I'm not sure what you meant. We don't have any CSI driver patch based on SDK 8.6.
