AM623: VDDSHV6 power supply when MMCSD2 is not used in the system

Part Number: AM623
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62A7-Q1

Tool/software:

What is recommended connection for VDDSHV6 power pins when MMCSD2 is not used in the system?
I found below description in sprad21f.pdf.
"VDDSHV4, VDDSHV5, and VDDSHV6 are designed to support power-up, power-down, or dynamic voltage change without any dependency on other power rails."
It sounds like VDDSHV6 can be connected to GND (0V).

On the other hand, I found below E2E FAQ for another device, AM62A7-Q1.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1237054/faq-am62a7-q1-how-to-connect-the-pin-net-vddshv4-vddshv5-and-vddshv6-if-sd-card-is-not-used
It says VDDSHV6 should be connected one of fixed 1.8V or 3.3V.

Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Koichiro Tashiro

    Thank you.

The recommendation is to connect to a valid supply when SD card interface or dynamic switching is not required.

Dynamic voltage switching is a short duration where the voltage changes.

Connecting VDDSHV6 to ground is not a recommended option.
