AM625: AM625 romcode doesn't boot in secondary bootmode when an empty ISSI eMMC is used.

Part Number: AM625

Tool/software:

Hello,

We have an issue with integration of ISSI eMMC chipset.

The configuration of the bootmode is eMMC as primary and ethernet as backup.

Our board using Micron eMMC first boot in ethernet then is flashed from Linux netboot.

Another board use a ISSI IS22ES08G eMMC, when booting for the first time the board doesn't use netboot.

A tcpdump capture show that no DHCP request is send from the board to the DHCP server.

Could you tell me, what could explain that the backup bootmode ethernet is not call by the ROM code ?

Regards,

Alexis.

  • Hello Alexis,

When using Ethernet as backup boot, the ROM code should be sending out the initial BOOTP request messages as long as there is a link established.

Another board use a ISSI IS22ES08G eMMC, when booting for the first time the board doesn't use netboot.

A tcpdump capture show that no DHCP request is send from the board to the DHCP server.

Have you verified with this board with ISSI eMMC to work when Ethernet is used as primary boot?
