TDA4AL-Q1: How can I bring up a CSI2 camera directly(i.e. no FPDLink) use Samtech 40-pin on TDA4AL-Q1 EVM?

We dont support this sensor in the SDK, you can refer to below dev note to add new sensor in the SDK and can enable single camera application with this sensor.

I know this, add new sensor in the SDK dev note, that make me helpful, another problem is so what can I do camera module MIPI signal transfer to CSI2 RX without FPD link interface? It seems have to use deserializer from EVM.
below is code path, how can I rewrite IssSensor_DeserializerInit?

2. appEnumerateImageSensor
3. ImageSensor_RemoteServiceHandler
4. IssSensor_DeserializerInit

Thanks, yes, this part of the sensor driver framework has dependency on serdes. Can you please comment out the code in this APIs and see if it works?

we meet a problem, the sensor driver can't probe if without UB960_SetSensorAlias and ub953_cfgScript.

Do you have any idea can write this driver for sensor power on?

Yes, the sensor framework is bit coupled with the deserializer. So instead of commenting out IssSensor_DeserializerInit, can you please try commenting out code inside Serialzier_WriteReg, Deserializer_ReadReg and Deserializer_WriteReg APIs and see if helps?

It still can't solve this problem, does it camera have power if without deserializer? if power needs to connect on outside?
because I study the CSI2 EXPANSION CONNECTORS, they have Auxiliary 12V Power Output for CSI2 in deserializer.

This is different unrelated question. You will need to check the schematics of the camera board to figure out from where it can receive FPD power.

I check the our pin define in MIPI FPC camera side, it have power in pin for camera.

But the sensor slave address is 0x6c is still not detected by i2c5.

So, what do I do next step in evm side?

I also checked the our k3-j721s2-common-proc-board.dts, and I see main_i2c5 seems only used for slave address is 0x20 on tca6408.

Does it needs to add in main_i2c5 for 0x6c on sensor?
If yes, how do I add this? thanks your help.

Hi chen,

No, there is no need to update dts file for this sensor. If the sensor is powered on, it should be detected when probe is called on i2c5. So are you sure that the camera is powered on? Additionally, can you please check with the camera vendor and see if anything else required, like reset or some additional pin in order to power it on?
