Hello,
I need to confirm that we are allowed to swap data bits within a given data byte lane on the DM3730 to assist on breakout. (ie swapping d0 with d7). Additionally are we also allowed to swap entire bytes for example (d7:0 & dm0 & dqs0) with (d15:9 & dmn1 & dqs1)?
Thank you
Hi Paul,
As long as you swap only within a byte line you are OK. Swapping outside a byte lane will result in issues.
Paul,
Neither the memory nor the EMIF will care if two or eight pins are swapped just so long as they are in the same byte lane. Just be certain to follow the DDR layout guidelines in section 6.4.2 of the datasheet.
