SK-AM62P-LP: Support for 4K Resolution on AM62P CSI-2 RX Interface

Part Number: SK-AM62P-LP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM62P

Tool/software:

I'm working on a project that involves integrating a single 4K camera with the AM62P processor from Texas Instruments. I need to confirm whether the CSI-2 RX interface on the AM62P supports 4K resolution (3840 × 2160) from a single 4K camera. According to the datasheet, the MIPI D-PHY supports 1.5 Gbps per lane, with 4 lanes available, providing a total data rate of 6 Gbps. If the data rate poses any constraints, please also consider the resolution of 2560x1024 at 50 fps with 24 bpp. Any insights, experiences, or references to official documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Hello Narendra,

Both of the resolutions you mentioned should be within 6.0Gbps and therefore can be supported on AM62P. Please refer to the following FAQ for more informaiton:

In addition, the CSI-2 Rx interface on AM62P is capable of supporting 2.5Gbps/lane, or 10.0Gbps with 4 lanes. The reason why datasheet has 1.5Gbps is that 2.5Gbps hasn't been characterized yet. We expect to do that and update the datasheet to 2.5Gbps/lane in a few months.
