Are you using Linux as the operating system?

yes we are using Linux as OS

firmware means the application we want to upgrade

Just to clarify, is this for a non-TI specific application? (i.e. not a TI-specific firmware?)

To my knowledge, we don't give any specific examples for upgrading an application specific firmware. TI only provides support on TI hardware and lower-level drivers, application-level implementations are usually left up to the customer.

You can however boot via Ethernet or flash an Image to eMMC over Ethernet see below for details.
