I tested this way on EVM and it works.
But on my own development board, I don't use all the pins. I use the “Reduced Pincount” mode for the dialing pins. How should I configure it if I only use bootmode[12-15]?

You want to configure boot mode as eMMC UDA/FS via the reduced boot mode pins BOOTMODE[15:12}. Is my understanding correct?

Yes, this is exactly the question I wanted to ask.

In reference to <5.3.2 BOOTMODE Pin Mapping (Reduced Pincount)> of AM62L TRM, <Fixed 1> and <Fixed 4> are for eMMC boot partition configuration only.

How do we plan to flash eMMC on your board?

I tried <Fixed 1> and <Fixed 4>, but they only allowed a single boot.

The system was started from an SD card, and the image was flashed to eMMC using the dd if command.

Awaiting your response. My goal is to achieve normal eMMC boot via the "Reduced Pincount" mode, which is what I aim to accomplish.

<Fixed 1> and <Fixed 4> using BOOTMODE[15:12] are for eMMC boot partition configuration, but there're ROM issues on booting from eMMC boot partition.

2/. what other boot media is available on your board?

2. There is also QSPI NAND storage media

3. does the VPP pin refer to N18? What do I need to do with VPP.

In reference to <5.3.2 BOOTMODE Pin Mapping (Reduced Pincount)> of AM62L TRM, <Fixed 1> and <Fixed 4> are for eMMC boot partition configuration only. <Efuse Bootmode1> or <Efuse Bootmode2> can be re-programmed to re-configure the boot mode as eMMC UDA/FS, where VPP is required to supply 1.8v when running the boot mode efuse programmer (currently under development).

Can we use the two memory boot media (SD or QSPI-NAND) available on your board as an alternative stop-gap solution?

Sorry for the late reply;
I still need to solve the EMMC boot because we need to make sure the EMMC boot is normal for our products to be used by our customers.
If you can't get EMMC to boot with “Reduced Pincount” for a short period of time, we can also choose to use “Full Pincount” + “eMMC UDA/FS “to realize EMMC booting.
I just need to know how soon Ti will release the supported version if I use “Reduced Pincount”, and will I need to modify the VPP pin circuit on my development board? So that we can evaluate which way to go.

Let's say we program <Efuse Bootmode1> or <Efuse Bootmode2> to configure eMMC UDA/FS as the primary boot mode,
what is the backup boot mode you want to have on your board? for example, SD, USB-DFU, UART?

In parallel, we're currently exploring internally on options to program boot mode efuse, and will keep you posted...

I thought only reduced bootstrap BOOTMODE[15:12] available on your board from your early messages.
Have you made HW modifications to have full BOOTMODE[15:0] pins available on your board?

The location of the resistor reserved on my board, I affixed the resistor and fixed the BOOTMODE [9:3] pins.
