While checking with the source i got to know that there is no Configurations for PMIC and confirmed it from this thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1493554/am62l-processor-sdk-query-regarding-pmic-configuration-in-am62l-source/5740291#5740291

I have observed that the wkup_i2c0 bus is currently disabled in the am62l-wakeup.dtsi file. Since the PMIC is connected to this bus at address 0x30, I would like to understand the how it board is booting without enabling and accessing it. And could you please provide on how to configure the DTS to enable wkup_i2c0 and ensure proper communication with the PMIC.

Additionally, once the bus is enabled, what would be the recommended approach to read and modify the PMIC voltage settings? Are there any specific considerations or constraints when writing to the PMIC registers using i2cset? Any insights on the correct I2C bus number assignment and verification steps after enabling wkup_i2c0 would also be helpful.

Refer to the Board Level device tree for AM62L: https://git.ti.com/cgit/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel/tree/arch/arm64/boot/dts/ti/k3-am62l3-evm.dts?h=ti-linux-6.12.y#n545

The board level device tree will override the 'status = "disabled";' in the .dtsi file.

If a different PMIC (not TPS65214) is used for the application, then you'll have to adjust the device tree node for the PMIC used.

You can use the i2cset/i2cget commands to communicate with the PMIC in userspace. You can refer to the man pages on how to get started.

To determine which i2c-x device applies to which modules, run 'ls -lta /sys/class/i2c-dev/'. The address of each i2c-x will match an address defined in the AM62L TRM: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/sprujb4

Hi Anshu ,

Thank you for sharing the link but im confused here this shared dts is different than what i have been using . Why is there a change now in this "k3-am62l3-evm.dts" and why those pmic changes are not found in the latest version.

Version: 11.00.05.02

Release date: Mar 4, 2025

Is there any updated source for AM62L3?

Hi Dheeraj,

The link Anshu provided points to the ti-linux-6.12.y branch of the kernel repo on git.ti.com, which has the PMIC tps65214 supported added after the SDK 11.0.5.2 release.

The SDK 11.0.5.2 release doesn't support PMIC yet.
