I am trying to get MCSPI to use LLD using m4fss0_0 core

in the mcspi_loopback_interrupt_lld.c example, it uses

ISR_CALL_LEVEL_NONFLOAT_REENTRANT ( ...

from

#include <kernel/nortos/dpl/r5/HwiP_armv7r_vim.h>

I could not find equivalent library for m4f in

C:\ti\ind_comms_sdk_am64x_09_02_00_08\mcu_plus_sdk\source\kernel\nortos\dpl\m4

Is there a work around for this?

They sysconfig seems to allow mcspi LLD on m4f core.

Hello Alan,

Allow me sometime to check if the LLD is supported across all cores, I am assuming yes, as it is not core dependent but drivers dependent.

Hi Alan,

Just a prompt update here, I have asked the owner for this Application of MCSPI Loopback Interrupt with LLD on the following questions:

1. Can this same example of mcspi loopback interrupt LLD be used with M4F?
2. If NO, then fine, if YES, then for M4F what is the equivalent of the ISR_CALL_LEVEL_NONFLOAT_REENTRANT API?

Hi Vaibhav

The example failed to compile on M4F due to missing library in

C:\ti\ind_comms_sdk_am64x_09_02_00_08\mcu_plus_sdk\source\kernel\nortos\dpl\m4

The library is only available on

C:\ti\ind_comms_sdk_am64x_09_02_00_08\mcu_plus_sdk\source\kernel\nortos\dpl\r5

I am confirming on this front and I am going to try to import this application to M4F and try to build and see if I face the same issues or not.

I have imported the mcspi lld interrupt application but on an empty m4f nortos application and I am seeing the following error while building:

So currently I am at a stage which is same as yours.

I am checking internally if there is a replacement API call for M4F similar to ISR_CALL_LEVEL_NONFLOAT_REENTRANT

Hi Alan,

Here is a response from the dev team:

ISR_CALL_LEVEL_NONFLOAT_REENTRANT
This macro is relevant only for R5F (where the core does not support nesting/re-entrancy). This macro is not usable for M4F. You need to use the irq handlers available in the SDK for M4F core. From what I know, M4F core supports nesting/re-entrancy in hardware itself - so the irq handlers in the SDK should already take care of it.
