SK-AM62-LP: Error in BalenaEtcher to create an SD card

Hi,

We are new to this platform and are trying to run the default image on the SK-AM62-LP (PROC124E2) board.
We are following the steps provided in the guide below:

We are using BalenaEtcher to create an SD card and have tested it on both Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 hosts using the following default images:

However, we are encountering the error below in all cases.

We hope the same steps in user guide are valid for the SK-AM62-LP board. Please confirm if any additional configuration or steps are required.

Hi Gopal,

Can you share whats the SD card configuration (16GB/32GB etc..)?

You just need to provide the https://dr-download.ti.com/software-development/software-development-kit-sdk/MD-PvdSyIiioq/11.00.09.04/tisdk-default-image-am62xx-evm-11.00.09.04.rootfs.wic.xz to balenaEtcher tool and point to the SD card and it should be able to create the SD card image with boot and rootfs partitions, that you can use on the board to boot.

We have been using the tool successfully on our end.

Thank you for your support.

We tried both 16GB and 64GB SD cards, but unfortunately, it did not work in our case using BalenaEtcher. However, after switching to the bmaptool method, we were able to successfully boot the device from the SD card.

Now, we would like to boot the same default image from eMMC and USB. Could you please share the relevant documentation or steps for booting from these storage options?

Additionally, we would appreciate it if you could also share documents that explain the booting process of the AM62x in detail.

We would like to flash the complete image—including the bootloader, U-Boot, and kernel—using only the U-Boot prompt.
If this is possible, could you please suggest the appropriate method?
