AM62A7: ISP: clarification about maximum performances

Part Number: AM62A7

Tool/software:

Team,
I have read the below post:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1299366/am62a7-spec-clarify-for-am62a-isp-performance

Original request is to use below sensor:
IMX902: 12.3Mpixel @40fps , 6k(H)x 2k(V) wide angle, which is not a standard image ratio.

but ISP has the limitation described in above post (315 MPixel/s, 4096 pixels/line).

1)Does any of our AM6xxx ISP would be able to support the above requirements?

For AM62A ISP (315 MPixel/s, 4096 pixels/line):
2) Are you aware of existing wide angle sensor (with 4096 pixels/line) that could be supported? for example 4kx2k?
I have seen IMX728 D3 camera is supported but 3840x2160 @30fps is not enough. Would need something closer to 4kx2k @38fps (ie as close as possible to theorical limit of the ISP).

3) I assume that AM67x ISP would enable to support 4kx2k@40fs (since it supports 480Mpixel/s)?

4)Are there some drivers/SW limitation or other system limitation that would prevent to use the ISP very close to the theroretical limit?

Thanks in advance,
Anber

  • Hi Anber,

1)Does any of our AM6xxx ISP would be able to support the above requirements?

No AM6xx ISP supports more than 4096 line width.

    2) Are you aware of existing wide angle sensor (with 4096 pixels/line) that could be supported? for example 4kx2k?

I'm not aware of 4kx2k sensors.

    3) I assume that AM67x ISP would enable to support 4kx2k@40fs (since it supports 480Mpixel/s)?

Yes, AM67x ISP can support that.

4)Are there some drivers/SW limitation or other system limitation that would prevent to use the ISP very close to the theroretical limit?

    SW has no limitation.
