PROCESSOR-SDK-J784S4: Compiling COMBINED_APPIMAGE

Hi,

1. In Development Boot Flow, U-Boot (u-boot.img) is not inside combined_dev.appimage, it's loaded separately by A72 SPL.

2. In Optimized Boot Flow, the Linux kernel is included inside combined_opt.appimage and the kernel is a much larger binary than U-Boot.

can you please point to the place in the documentation, where the flash address is written that the A72 SPL will try to load U-Boot from.

Could you please refer the <pdk>/packages/ti/boot/sbl/tools/combined_appimage/config.mk file.

this is the A72-SPL, this is NOT the u-boot that will actually be loaded.

The A72-SPL is built using the defconfig from TI u-boot repo. In configs/j784s4_evm_r5_defconfig, the config CONFIG_SYS_SPI_U_BOOT_OFFS defines the flash address in which the u-boot needs to be flashed. Below is the link to the latest u-boot branch where the above said config is defined.

Note: This config works only for SPI/QSPI/OSPI based flashes.

Target: make BOARD=j784s4_evm HLOS_BOOT=optimized

directory: $PSDK_RTOS_PATH/pdk_jacinto_<release_version>/packages/ti/boot/sbl/tools/combined_appimage
