TDA4VM: How can I check whether the board is boot-up by watchdog ?

Dear TI.

Now I understand that Watchdog is triggered by below sequence

RTI Module --> SOC ESM --> PMIC

After reset is trigged by PMIC, How can I check whether the board is reboot by watchdog ?

Is there any register to check ?

Hi Jace,

I have double checked with hardware experts in the past, there is no direct bit that can convey that the reset source is watchdog.

Then how can we check that the board reboot by watchdog ?

Since our system should behave differently depending on the boot reason.(SW reset, Watchdog reset, Power-ON reset)

Hi Keerthy.

I've compared PIMC register before/after watchdog reset

0xB5,0xB6,0xB7 are RTC registers and 0x83 is RECOV_CNT_REG_1.

It is increased whenever I trigger watchdog reset and is not cleared after SW reset.

Can I use this register to check whether the system boot up by watchdog reset or not ?
