Tool/software:
Dear TI Support Team,
We are currently working with the AM6442 SoC on our custom hardware, on the TDMSAM6442EVM . The system is configured to boot from the SD card, and we have confirmed that primary boot mode from SD works correctly.
However, we are encountering an issue where the secondary (backup) boot mode fails to boot from the SD card. Specifically:
- The boot mode pins are configured to attempt primary boot from one peripheral (e.g., OSPI ), and fallback to SD card as the secondary boot source.
- When the primary boot source is deliberately made unavailable (to trigger the fallback), the ROM does not proceed to boot from the SD card.
- No UART output or signs of boot activity are observed during this fallback attempt.
- We have validated the SD card image and hardware setup thoroughly, as it works fine during primary SD boot.
We would appreciate your guidance on the following:
- Are there any known limitations or specific requirements for enabling secondary boot mode from SD card on AM6442?
- Are there additional device configuration settings, fuse bits, or DTS/bootloader changes needed to support backup boot from SD?
- Can you share any reference examples or troubleshooting procedures to help debug and validate the fallback boot functionality?
Please let us know if additional logs, schematics, or boot configuration details are needed from our side.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
